Clients attend individual therapy for a variety of reasons, such as grief, trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as during life transitions. For some, seeking mental health services like EMDR therapy can be beneficial. If you think you might need to talk about it, especially in the context of couples therapy or other forms of support, you probably should!
Couples attend couples therapy for a variety of reasons! It can serve as a valuable resource to navigate conflict, enhance communication, or even provide a refresher and renewal for the relationship. There is a common misconception that seeking couples therapy indicates the relationship is in 'trouble,' which is completely inaccurate! In fact, all couples can greatly benefit from therapy, including EMDR therapy, individual therapy, and other mental health services. It's essential to understand that therapy is a proactive step toward strengthening your bond.
EMDR therapy is a structured individual therapy approach that not only supports patients in addressing trauma but can also complement couples therapy. This method encourages patients to briefly focus on their trauma memories while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation, typically through eye movements. This process is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion tied to trauma memories, making it a valuable option among various mental health services. At Twin Cities Lighthouse Therapy, LLC, our mission is to make mental health services accessible. To achieve this, we collaborate with several commercial insurance plans, enabling clients to utilize their health insurance benefits for various therapies, including individual therapy and couples therapy. We are in-network with a variety of providers, such as: UHC, Medica, UCARE, UMR, Aetna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Health Partners/Cigna, and MA/State Plan.
**Please note that it is the client's responsibility to verify that we are covered by their individual health care plan through their insurance provider. This can be done by calling the number on the back of their health insurance card.
In addition to partnering with numerous health insurance companies, we also provide private pay rates for our services, including EMDR therapy. Our rates are as follows:
Initial sessions - $200
Individual Therapy Session - $185
Couples Therapy Sessions - $200
The out-of-pocket cost when utilizing mental health services, such as individual therapy, couples therapy, or EMDR therapy, varies based on the specific health insurance plan. We encourage all clients to reach out to their insurance providers directly for detailed payment information regarding copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
After your therapy session, whether it’s for individual therapy, couples therapy, or EMDR therapy, we will bill the client's health insurance directly. Insurance will then send us a check for what they are willing to cover for the sessions and communicate the client's out-of-pocket expense. This process can take up to 30 days to be completed.
Once insurance has notified us how much the client owes, we will then charge the client's out-of-pocket expense to the card on file. We have found this to be the most seamless experience for clients receiving mental health services.
Clients may request to opt out of automated charges; however, they will not be able to continue treatment until all out-of-pocket costs have been paid off.
Once you've set up an appointment for couples therapy, EMDR therapy, or individual therapy, please download our client contract forms. Don't forget to return them below along with your payment information before your appointment for our mental health services.
